Diamond Bar AYSO - Region 31

Fall 2024 Season

Our Fall Core 2024 Registration is OPEN!

We are a volunteer based non-profit organization, therefore we rely on parents, friends and family to volunteer as coaches and referees. All training is provided to our volunteers, and coaches receive standard coaching equipment, and referees receive uniforms. This is all provided at no cost to you. This is a great opportunity to learn the game and be involved in your child's experience. Most training is online, with the exception of a short field course taught by our region's coach instructors. Volunteering and being a part of your child's experience in soccer is something they'll never forget!

UNIFORMS
Schoolyard, U6 & U8: Full uniform & a small picture package is included in your registration cost
U10-U19: Uniform will be purchased online from a Xara in Pomona by the parent, at an additional cost, once teams are formed and a coach is assigned. The uniform link will be emailed to you from Xara.

Teams and coaches are assigned once registration is closed, and no team changes will be made once teams are formed as all teams are balanced based on ratings. If we do not have enough volunteers, we cannot form teams. Divisions are based on birth year, and this is decided at a National level, not by us as a region. We will not be able to move a player down to a younger division. If you are concerned about your player being in the assigned division, please know they will be playing with kids their same age.

Per our Region and National guidelines, there will be no team or coach requests accepted. Circumstances such as playing with family members may be considered. AYSO's philosophy of Balanced Teams means every team must have the same skill within that division. If family requests need to be made, please email [email protected] and the decision will be up to the Board of Directors.

Thank you for all of the support you have given Region 31. We look forward to seeing new and returning faces this upcoming Fall season!

**Cancellation Policy**
If you register and later decide to cancel and request a refund, full refunds will only be given before June 15th. After August 1st, refunds will be given for the base registration fee less the cost of the uniform for U8 and younger. For U10 and above, you will not be able to receive a refund for your uniform once it is ordered. The $25 AYSO National Fee cannot be refunded. No refunds will be given after September 1, 2024. Please email [email protected] with your cancellation/refund requests.

Schedules

All practices are scheduled by the volunteer coach in charge of the team. Teams will be assigned a coach in July, with practice day, time and location to follow upon their acceptance of a team.

All games for Schoolyard, U6, U8, U10 and U12 will be played on Saturdays in Diamond Bar. Game times vary from 8am to 5pm.

FAQ's

I want to register my child in an older division. How can I do that?
You may register your child, and email [email protected] once complete to request they be moved to an older division. This request will need to be approved by the Regional Commissioner.

It is my child's first year of soccer, I'm afraid they are too young for the division they are placed in. Can we move them to a younger division?
Your child will be placed in a division based on birth year and cannot play down in a younger division. AYSO is a recreational league, so skill level, size and age is considered by the coach when planning practices. Safety of the players is our #1 priority.

I want my child to play with his friend on a certain team. Can we make that request?
Due to Regional and National guidelines, there will be no coach or player requests accepted. Circumstances such as family members needing to be together may be considered. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

We have other activities on Saturdays and during the week. When will we know the schedule for practice and games?
Since our coaches are volunteers, all practices will be scheduled by them. We will not know the day, time or location for your practice until the coach has chosen. Coaches are assigned in July. Please refer to the Fall Core 2024 tab for our cancellation policy should you need to cancel.

What equipment is required for my child to play?
Every player must have shin guards, cleats and a soccer ball. Please see chart below for ball size for each age group.

DivisionBall Size
 Schoolyard/U6/U8Size 3
 U10/U12Size 4
 U14/U16/U19Size 5

I want to volunteer, but have never played soccer before. Can I still coach?
All training is provided to you, with a variety of resources such as warm up routines, drills to run at practices and game plans. Our coach instructors have been trained to ensure each of our coaches and assistant coaches have the proper knowledge for the age group they coach. The training is online, with a short 1-2 hour field course held in Diamond Bar. This field course shows you how to run a practice, proper drills to run for that age group, and much more! The coach instructors and other experienced board members can also come to a practice to assist you as you begin. All coaching equipment is provided to you at the beginning of the season at no cost to you. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in becoming a coach!
